A Layered Conversation on AI
AI has many layers of context and complexity that we don't typically have the time and space to unravel when trying to form opinions and engage responsibly with this rising technology. Some of these questions can provoke strong emotions and feel overwhelming to reflect on alone. This session is a group container for that harder conversation.
In person · 3 hours with a break in between · Bring a tablet or PC
25 seats · Sign-up includes a short pre-registration survey.
Given the wide-reaching impact of AI on society as a whole, we believe it is important to think about it as a group. Join WiTG for a slow session where we reflect and discuss AI from multiple angles and hold space for difficult feelings, opposing views, diverse visions, and anything else that comes up around this trending topic.
The aim is to move from discussion to co-creating a WiTG AI Manifesto that offers guidelines and recommendations for action.
Consultant, Facilitator, Teacher
We will reflect individually, followed by group discussions on different layers and aspects of AI.
How our nervous system feels about it.
What we think are the benefits and harms of AI.
Thinking about AI in the context of our current moment in society.
What agency and resources we have as humans to take appropriate action.
Slowness, silence, ambiguity and conflict are welcome as we hold space for each other.
The intention is not to come to agreement or consensus, but rather to hear and understand all the different and likely contradicting positions held by members in the group.
We start the session with a connection and embodiment activity that brings our whole selves to the room.
We reflect on our own before the group discussions begin.
Group discussions on the different layers and aspects of AI, entering our opinions in the app as we go.
The session runs for 3 hours with a break in between.
Once we have completed this exploration, we will turn to co-developing a WiTG AI Manifesto.
We will be piloting a data collection and facilitation app where we will individually enter our opinions for each discussion layer and see a real-time summary dashboard of the group's positions.
This is why we ask you to bring a tablet or PC.
Ideally, this document will articulate our network's:
WiTG members who are still trying to figure out their stance on AI, or who would like to unpack the impact of AI in discussion with others.
